Hi there! I'm so excited to be able to share the Noonday collection with you and am thrilled at the chance to be your Ambassador. The very first time I was exposed to Noonday, I knew that this was something that God had planned for me.
I have always had a heart for missions and was blessed to grow up in a church that allowed me the opportunities to go on multiple mission trips throughout high school. But it was the summer after my freshman year in college when I traveled to Kenya, Africa on a missions trip, that my eyes were opened to the global poverty crisis.
In the past 2 years, God has taken that awareness and replaced it with a passion for the orphan, the oppressed, and those living in poverty. In 2010, my husband answered God's call and headed to Haiti 9 days after the earthquake. Our life has not been the same since. We both went to Haiti 2 more times and each time I bought several different "souveniers" from local artisans. But I was conflicted. I wanted to do more. During those same trips, God confirmed in our hearts that He was calling us to adopt a little boy from Haiti. We are in that long process right now, but I still felt it wasn't enough.
I thought of buying suitcases full of local artwork, jewelry and home decor items to bring back to the States and sell to my friends and family to help support the local community in Haiti and then God led me to Noonday. The opportunity to bring jewelry, home decor, gifts, etc. to you through a Noonday trunk show is not a business to me. It's a ministry to each of those families that are making the item that YOU buy! You aren't just buying a fashion forward item for yourself or your home, you are personally investing in a person's life who has been given the opportunity to support themselves and their family and live a life of dignity! And the icing on the cake is that if you are in the process of adoption, Noonday will allow you to raise funds for your adoption through your trunk show!
Have fun with it! Look through the website. Find something that speaks to you. Read about the artisan who made it. Then know that YOU are making a difference in their life while enjoying a fabulous item that you would have had to travel the globe to buy otherwise!
